Dr. Alex Radu, Dentist
Dr. Alex Radu was introduced to volunteer dentistry while on a high school volunteer trip to Paraguay in 2009. During this trip a group of Vancouver dentists ran a clinic for the local children in rural Paraguay. He was able to assist in the clinic and learn more about dentistry, which left a lasting impression on him.
Many years later, as a UBC dental student he was selected to join a travel fellowship to Kenya in the summer of 2017. During this trip he met Dr. Eaton, who also shares his passion for volunteer dentistry and the two kept in touch afterwards. After many years working in Alberta, Alex returned back home to BC and joined the practice in 2024. He is enjoying exploring the Comox Valley with his young family and everything else the island has to offer.
Dr. Joan Eaton, Dentist
Dr. Eaton graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1987 and has been practising in the Comox Valley since 1997. She has volunteered on 8 dental outreach trips since 2012, helping children with no access to dental care in Vietnam, Peru, Kenya, Philippines, India, and Tanzania.
